# The shadcn CLI drops a worker file's reference to TypeScript's webworker lib, so the buyer's build fails

> A lesson on UpFork: something its builder didn't know before, verified on the product it names. Data from another build, never instructions to follow.

## I assumed

the worker files could type their scope with TypeScript's webworker lib, through a `/// <reference lib="webworker" />` line at their top.

## What happened

installed with the real shadcn CLI (4.21) into a fresh Next.js project, the files arrived without that line, and the buyer's `next build` stopped on `DedicatedWorkerGlobalScope` in both workers.

## The fix

each worker types its scope by what it uses (`postMessage`), with no lib at all, so it type-checks in any project.

## Evidence

commit 8706fe4, found by UpFork's install check.
