## How to get it

It's a React Native component for Expo apps (Expo SDK 57), not a shadcn item: copy its folders into the app's root from its ZIP (Download source on its page) or through UpFork's MCP server (install_product), then install its packages with Expo:

```bash
npx expo install expo-haptics react-native-gesture-handler react-native-reanimated react-native-svg react-native-worklets
```

It's free and in no plan: an AI assistant installs it through MCP with no account, and its ZIP downloads with a free UpFork account.

Step by step, with the App.tsx that shows it and Skia's web setup: https://upfork.dev/docs/mobile.

## About

Filmstrip is the gallery from your phone's photo app, for your own app: a big viewer on top and, along the bottom, a strip where the current item opens to its true shape while every other one is squeezed into a sliver.

- **One position, two views.** Scrub the strip and the viewer follows frame by frame, with a parallax between pages; swipe the viewer and the strip slides along. Nothing ever drifts out of sync.
- **True shapes, never stretched.** Portrait, landscape and square open at their own aspect; slivers show the picture's centre. No width is animated: two clipping boxes slide over each other, so corners stay round and nothing distorts.
- **Feels like film.** 1:1 scrubbing from the first pixel, a decay and a snap, tap any sliver to jump, a haptic tick as each item crosses the centre.
- **A real viewer.** Double-tap (or double-click) to zoom about that point and drag around; swipe down to close when it's a modal; a counter and captions that morph.
- **Video chapters.** Items can be videos with duration badges and a play mark.
- **Any image, any layout, any size.** Draw pictures with Image, expo-image or anything else; use the viewer and strip apart; 500 items stay smooth because only what shows is mounted.

Three complete demos: a photo viewer whose place and time morph per photo, a stay listing with the strip over the photo, and a film's chapters. Every picture in them is painted by our own shader.
